Build a Microsoft OOF management tool for Outlook
I used Claude Code to build a Microsoft OOF management tool. When someone goes on vacation and forgets to turn on Outlook Out-of-Office notifications—what Microsoft calls OOF—we previously had to change their password, log in as them, and set up automatic replies. When they returned, we had to reset their password again. It was a pain. Now, authorized users from HR and IT can connect to the tool’s website, enter the user’s email address, and set up their OOF message. An account on our hosted Exchange server, with application impersonation enabled, sets the message for us. Easy-peasy. Step-by-step: 1. I used Claude Code to build a website for managing Microsoft OOF messages. 2. An authorized HR or IT user connects to the website and enters the user’s email address. 3. The authorized user sets up the user’s Out-of-Office message. 4. An account on our hosted Exchange server uses application impersonation to set the message for the user.
