In this guide, you will learn how to test an AI video object swap with Higgsfield Genjutsu. We'll walk through the setup, keep the first test cheap, and check whether the result actually makes the change we asked for.
You'll create a short object-swap test and compare it with the original clip. We tried replacing a golf ball with a dinosaur egg. It generated a video, but the ball stayed in the shot and the egg didn't go where it needed to. We'll use that result to show you what to check.
Try a different prop in the same source clip. Keep the action fixed and compare the replacements at the same moment. If you want to use this for a recurring series, start by finding a clip and object combination that works reliably before making a batch.
Open Higgsfield Genjutsu and select Object Swap. Higgsfield has two modes here: Motion Transfer uses a video's movement to rebuild a scene, while Object Swap targets an element within the existing shot.
We picked Motion Transfer by mistake on our first attempt. Check the mode before uploading everything and starting a generation.
Upload your source video and replacement reference. Start with one clear change: this object becomes that object. Our fallback test used a golf swing and an image of a dinosaur egg.
Pro tip: Use your own footage and original references. Our sports-character attempts were blocked for protected content. Switch to material you have permission to use if a request is blocked.
Tell Higgsfield which object to replace and which reference image to use. We asked it to replace the golf ball with the dinosaur egg.
For your own clip, adapt this instruction:
Replace [the object in the source video] with [the object in the reference image]. Keep the rest of the shot the same.
Make sure those descriptions match your uploaded files. If the interface labels them Image 1 or Video 1, use the corresponding labels so the request points to the right inputs.
Turn the quality down for the first test. We lowered it during testing to save credits. A short clip also gives you less video to generate and inspect; trim yours to the moment where the change needs to happen, within the generator's current upload limits.
Check the displayed credit cost, then click Generate. Give it time. Our golf test involved a long wait, so don't plan on getting an instant preview.
Watch the generated video, then replay the same moment in the original. Pay attention to the object you asked it to change:
Our dinosaur-egg result was fun to watch. But it didn't delete the golf ball, and the egg wasn't placed where the ball was going. That makes it a failed replacement, even though it produced an interesting video.
Pause around the moment of contact. An object can look convincing in one frame and still be wrong as soon as the action starts. Keep the original nearby while you review.
Higgsfield lets you favorite, download, or regenerate the result. Save a useful experiment if you want to compare it later, but check the whole clip before treating it as finished.
If you retry, focus on the failure you found. In our test, the next attempt would need to remove the original ball and put the replacement in the correct position. We didn't get that corrected version in this test.
Keep the source clip and reference alongside any result you download. That gives you the original inputs when you return to the experiment.
