Use Claude’s Chrome Extension to Quickly Book Business Trips

• Navigate to Claude for Chrome in the Chrome Web Store.
• Click “Add to Chrome” to install the Claude in Chrome extension.

Before running hotel research, create a shortcut that handles the filtering automatically.

• In the Chrome extension, type /shortcuts and click “Create Shortcut.”
• Name it /hotel-picker.
• Add this prompt:

When searching for hotels on Booking.com:

1. Property Type: Always use the “Property type” checkbox on the left sidebar to select “Hotels” only. This filters out boutique hotels, Airbnbs, vacation rentals, and full properties. Only show traditional hotels.
2. Distance from City Center: If the user specifies a distance requirement, such as “within 1 mile of downtown,” use the “Distance from city center” checkboxes on the left sidebar to select the appropriate range.
3. Property Rating: Default to 4 stars and up by using the property rating filter unless the user explicitly requests a different star rating. This ensures you’re showing reputable, quality hotels.
4. Review Quality: Find the top 10 hotels based on the user’s criteria and user reviews. Check both Booking.com reviews and cross-reference with TripAdvisor to verify quality and reputation. Prioritize hotels with high ratings, such as 8.5+ on Booking.com and 4+ stars on TripAdvisor, and recent positive reviews.
5. Search for modern, clean properties: When reviewing options, prioritize hotels that appear modern and well-maintained in photos. Look for amenities like rooftop bars, pools, fitness centers, and modern decor when available.

Return the top 10 options sorted by best overall value considering price, location, reviews, and amenities.

• Set “Start from” to booking.com.
• Save the shortcut.

• Go to Google Sheets.
• Create a new spreadsheet with the headers shown below.

• Copy the spreadsheet URL.

I’m traveling to [location] from [date]. Find hotels within 1 mile of downtown under [price per night]. I already have a spreadsheet set up at [YOUR SPREADSHEET URL HERE] — navigate to it and add a row for each hotel with: name, price per night, rating, distance to downtown, key amenities, and booking link. Sort by best value.

It should take 10–15 minutes to get your list of hotel recommendations back.

• Create a Chrome profile just for Claude for Chrome so you can control which logins it has access to.
• Try not to click into the page while Claude is active in the tab. It can throw Claude off. You can continue working as normal in other tabs.
• If Claude triggers anti-bot protections on a site, ask it to slow down and type out each letter. It will likely paste full sentences all at once to start.
• Be patient. Manual tasks can take a few minutes for Claude to complete, but it is inexpensive to run because it uses Haiku by default.
• You can set workflows to run automatically on a schedule, such as inbox cleaning or tracking flight prices.

You can record your screen and voice to teach Claude to do a task for you. The source notes that text instructions have worked better, and that teaching Claude via recording still creates a text prompt afterward.

If you prefer Notion, you can use Claude Desktop and the Notion connector instead of sending results to a Google Sheet.

• Open Claude Desktop, not just the Chrome extension.
• Enable the Notion connector in Claude Desktop settings.
• Give Claude permission to access your Notion workspace.
• Replace the Google Sheet URL in your prompts with “create this in my Notion workspace.”
• Claude will create pages and databases directly in Notion.
