I’m a retired physicist, teacher, writer, maker, and incurable explorer of rabbit holes living in rural Manitoba, Canada.
I use ChatGPT as a long-term thinking and research partner across an unusually broad collection of real-world and creative projects: writing and worldbuilding, music generation, historical and scientific research, mapping, 3D printing, gardening, cooking, rural problem-solving, website and database development, and whatever unexpected problem appears next.
My AI workflows rarely stay entirely on the computer. They tend to involve workshops, barns, old machinery, local experts, phone calls, experiments, and occasionally discovering that we already own the equipment required to solve the problem.
I’m particularly interested in human–AI collaboration where the AI researches, reasons, organizes and helps design the process while the human remains the physical interface with the real world — Agent P1.
Current experiments range from building a large fictional world and producing thousands of original songs to recovering a local rye and spelt supply chain with a decades-old grain crusher.
I’m here mostly to see what other people are doing with AI, share the stranger things we discover, and occasionally demonstrate that a perfectly ordinary question can turn into a surprisingly sophisticated workflow.
