About this live course

This hands-on workshop shows managers how to use AI to get far more value from their 1:1s. Most leaders treat each 1:1 as a standalone meeting, but AI now makes it possible to build a system that learns over time, remembering context about each direct report: their work, goals, commitments, challenges, and development areas.

By bringing your 1:1 notes from tools like Fathom or Granola into a centralized place for each direct report, you can use AI to prepare for meetings, surface follow-ups, track commitments, spot patterns, and coach your people more effectively.

But better technology alone doesn't create better 1:1s. You can also improve the entire process, from how you prepare, to what you do during the meeting, to what happens after. Done well, a 30-minute 1:1 becomes one of a manager's highest-leverage tools for developing people, increasing accountability, and improving team performance.

Adam will build an AI-Powered 1:1 Operating System with participants in real time, drawing on management best practices and AI tools you can start using immediately. You'll leave with a step-by-step approach you can use in your very next 1:1.

In this session, you'll learn

6 outcomes

1Build employee context

Create a simple AI workspace with a project for each direct report, holding goals, priorities, development areas, and details from prior 1:1s.

2Capture what matters

Use transcripts and AI summaries to capture decisions, commitments, development observations, and unresolved issues.

3Create ongoing memory

Turn individual meetings into persistent context, so the important things do not disappear between 1:1s.

4Prepare smarter

Use AI before a 1:1 to surface open commitments, emerging patterns, overlooked issues, and high-value coaching questions.

5Management best practices

Learn how the best managers structure their 1:1s, and how to make the best use of the time you have.

6Spot patterns over time

Use AI across a month of conversations to spot recurring challenges, employee growth, missed commitments, and patterns in your own management behavior.

A preview of what we'll cover

  • The one-off meeting problem: what you lose when 1:1s do not build on each other
  • How to set up a lightweight AI workspace for each person on your team
  • Using MD files to create memory from your 1:1s that carries forward
  • The prep routine that surfaces what to discuss before you start
  • How to use 1:1s to stay aligned, solve issues, drive accountability, and develop your people
  • Why follow-through after the 1:1 matters as much as the meeting itself
  • The long-run payoff: patterns in your team, and in your own blind spots
