In this guide, you will learn how to use Reve 2.1 to change the color of one small part of a product photo without regenerating the entire image. You’ll create a new copy with your selected color changes while keeping the rest of the product image intact.
You’ll create a new color variation of a product photo by changing only the parts you select. In this example, the hat’s brim, rope, and lettering are changed to purple and reused in the finished flat lay.
You can make other edits with the same workflow. To change a shadow, material, or background, select that part and edit the text prompt you see instead of changing its color. Describe the result you want, then click Apply to create another version.
After creating your account, open Reve and choose Upload and edit. Select the product image or images you want to change.
You can also create an album first if you want to keep several product photos and their color variations together. Once the upload finishes, open the image in the editor.
Reve automatically scans your image and breaks it into editable parts. In the panel on the right, open the dropdown beside Uploaded image to see the main objects it detected.
Keep opening the nested dropdown menus to get more detailed. A hat, for example, might contain separate layers for the crown, text, ventilation holes, brim, and shadow. Stop when you find the exact part you want to change.
In our test, the clean product photo produced more detailed layers than the busy flat lay. If the part you need is missing, try a simpler source image where the product is the main subject.
Click the part you want to recolor. Reve will highlight that area and show its editing controls.
Click the color palette tool, then click the current hex code. Paste the new hex code you want to test and press Enter. You can also drag around the color picker or use the eyedropper to pull a color from another part of the image.
Repeat this for any other detected parts you want to recolor. In our example, the same purple was added to the hat’s lettering and brim before generating the new version.
Pro tip: You can make changes to multiple parts at once before moving to the next step. Copy the hex code so every selected part uses the same color.
When your color choices are ready, click Apply. Reve will duplicate the original and create a new version with all of your selected color changes.
The original stays available, so you can return to it whenever you want to make another color variation.
Pro tip: Start each new color variation from the original image. Repeatedly editing an AI-edited version can add distortion and reduce detail.
